Ready to take your online relationship offline? Here are some Dating Safety Tips
After spending adequate time online either chatting or emailing each other you have now decided to meet in person. Although this may be an exciting time for both of you don’t forget that safety is still important during the first meeting.
Always meet in a safe, public location where there will always be other people around you. Locations such as restaurants or coffee shops are always good locations as opposed to locations such as your apartment or a park which can be secluded.
Use your own transport. Avoid getting your date to pick you up in their vehicle. Instead drive yourself or take your own transport so that you always have the option of leaving if and when you need to.
Tell a friend or family member. Make sure you tell a family member or good reliable friend where you will be meeting, the time you are meeting and the time you will be leaving the location. You may even consider calling a friend after 30 minutes into the date just to let them know how the date is going. And always call a friend or family once you arrive home from the date.
Alcohol. If you choose to have alcohol on the date always keep your drink in sight, order you own drink and avoid getting too drunk.
Always remain alert. As soon as you feel uncomfortable with the date alert someone, call a friend or just leave the date. Do not feel obliged to stay if you are uncomfortable
